Do I need an Origin account to play Alice: Madness Returns?

I have just uploaded the game recently and I chose a standard upload and went through to the Electronic Arts EULA updates to avoid copyright infringement as was stated in licensing. I was shown the Origin window, and thought I had to make an account.



My question is, do I actually have to have an Origin account (and Origin open) to play the game?Do I need an Origin account to play Alice: Madness Returns?
